Summer 2024

Updated: May 9

Dear Fencing friends and Families!

It's hard to believe we are more than half way through our season and school year! A lot of families are planning the summer already so we hope you consider attending our Summer Camps.

We have the space and staffing to offer something for everyone. That includes total beginners up to our most competitive fencers and everyone in between.

Details below, click on the link to register. Early bird discount code available until April 1st: "earlybirdcamps2024 "

Car service to the camps and before/after care available upon request.

June 17th-21st and June 24th-28th: End of Season/Pre-Nationals Camps.

This program is designed to finish the season with a bang and to provide a final spike in training before going to Summer Nationals in Columbus, OH. Due to the Nationals schedule, Week 1 is geared towards the older group, Week 2 is trending towards Youth 12 and Under. At least one Junior Olympics medalist guaranteed to attend among other highly ranked and motivated athletes.

This is an excellent way to close the season even if you are not going to Nationals as there will be plenty of time with fencers you may not usually see during the school year.

Staffed by Coach Ilya, Doug and Konstantin.

We highly recommend that our Core group plans summer vacations after these camps and Nationals.

Our season ends June 15th and all automatic payments will stop then. If your payment schedule still leaves you with a credit towards lessons or classes we will work with you individually. We be available after the camps. We are also scheduling additional training and equipment maintenance clinics free of charge to our Core members.

June 29th to July 7th: We are essentially closed for Nationals, but you are welcome to come for A La Carte lessons and free fencing as much as you like. Please schedule with your coach.

This is also the time to start planning your schedule for the 2024-2025 Core Program.

July 8th through August 9th: Beginner and Open/Intermediate Camps!

Our Beginner Olympic Fencing Camps are the best way to introduce someone that has never fenced before. All equipment is provided and the program is designed to instill a love for the sport and teach everything a kid would need to fence in a USA Fencing tournament, This includes basic technique, safety rules, equipment handling, refereeing bouts and an intro to becoming a competitive athlete. Equipment provided.

Daily schedule is approximately so: (We manage breaks and lunch depending on the group's stamina and focus.)

  • 9am-10am: Warm up games, socializing and sports etiquette.

  • 10am-12Noon: Fencing technique, fitness, pair drills and games.

  • 12Noon-1/1:30pm: Lunch and chess club. (Please pack a non-perishable lunch.)

  • 1:30pm-3pm: Suiting up and fencing.

  • 3pm-4pm: Equipment care, stretching and cooldown.

Our Open/Intermediate Camps are for families that are somewhere in between a beginner and a Core program member. Perhaps you already took an intro class, or just started competing, or are thinking about it. These camps are a perfect way to keep a kid busy in the Summer and may instill a life long love for the sport. Equipment optional.

August 12th-16th: Elite-Pre Season Camp. Jump start the season! Open to all athletes of all ages that have some USA Fencing competitive experience. Olympic Champion Sandro Cuomo et al., have been running this amazing program for the last three years.

August 17th: Core Program schedule requests deadline.

August 18th-September 2nd. School start and preparation, A La Carte lessons and open fencing.

Season Starts Tuesday, September 3rd.

Happy Fencing!
